Hi I'm trying to get Legacy working correctly on my Apple iMac. I think Apple
Mail rule may be giving me problems. Any Apple iMac users or Apple users got
ant suggestions? You might want to also cc me off line: momalo...@me.com, but
is that legal for our Legacy User Group? John Roose, do
I have looked through the archives and it sounds like a number of users have run
legacy on their netbooks without any problem. The one question that I have is do
I need to have 2 ram or does it run ok on 1 ?

Hi Lucy,
Mine works fine on 1 ram. Have about 11000 people on it.

Hi = probably the only problem you might experience is the machine running
slow, especially when doing searches of the database. FWIW, additional ram
is really cheap, and in most cases the owner can install the additional ram.
I have an Aspire One and installed another 1Gb with no problems, and
I have searched the help file to no avail. How do you restore from a
merge backup. The help file tells you that you lose the backup when you
close the current session but not how to restore. Does anyone know how
to restore as I need to recover an individual.

Researching Young,
If you are closing a merge in process, the next time you select merge,
you are reminded that you have one in process, and are asked if you wish
to continue the existing merge. It is automatic whenever you merge.

Legacy User Group guidelines:
During the current session when you first performed the merge: If you
decide to abandon the changes, you can Undo them all by choosing 'Undo
Merge of (15/04/2011 8:30:22 PM)' from the Edit menu.
That will restore the file to the state before you started.
Here is an extract from Help File:
Browsing seems OK, and I have an iMac with 2 Terabytes of ?ram. I always get
ram mixed up with the other thing? Memory? Since I'm just getting back into
my genealogy, is the big print something new? I thought we had to use plain
text, and I love the larger font.

Regarding restoring. I took the webinar a few weeks ago on the Legacy site for
backing up and found it quite helpful. I now have a Back-up Plan!

What do you mean. Any merge that is finished, then backed up, is now the whole
new DB. As long as you save normally, it should be there. I have restored many
times, but I think you may misunderstand what it does. You can only restore an
actual backup. If you saved the backup to either C: drive
I guess you did not pay attention to the screen that the merge process
pops up when you stop it. It is that screen that tells you how to undo
the merge by going to Edit Undo Merge... That Undo option only exists
during the session where you started the merge. It will not be there
once you close
