Pat,
I am not saying that the RC does not have a problem, although I have never
found it, but are you certain that you have ghost marriages, or similar?

My dad and my stepmother are blood related (distantly but blood related). They
relationship calculator will only say that they are husband and wife.

Michele,
Are you limiting the RC by setting the number of levels in the bottom
left of its screen too low?

Well that's weird. I didn't change the settings at all. I had blood at 999
and non blood at 10 already. Now it is showing them as 4th cousins twice
removed and as husband and wife. I have only recently connected my stepmother
into the family but the first time I ran it, it didn't pick it up
Ron,
What is a ghost marriage?
Michele, I think the RC must be like people -- exercise makes them more
agile! :-)

I don't use SourceWriter for censuses.
I'm very much a splitter. My Source List Name reads, e.g.:

For the Title, I simply copy and paste the Source List Name.

Tim,
I do not not disagree with you in absolute terms, but I do put (Ancestry,
Findmypast etc.) in the repository. But I also make it clear where the
actual documents may be viewed. My reason for this is that there may by a

I file my papers by family (I believe it's the system by Mills?), and have a
question for those of you who do likewise. I don't wish to change how I file

Jenny,
There is no difference between us. I was thinking mainly in terms of
transcribed data, but like yourself, if there is an image then, I agree, it is
my view which I use; often with a comment such as Ancestry indexes the name

Although I file by MRIN, the question is still applicable.
I put all records for a person in their MRIN folder (and under their

after. Except, for instance, where they're in a census record as a

Hi again,
I'm using version 5 Deluxe.
And I still think it is the best of the best.
And I've been using genealogy software since

But.
Here is what is happening with Legacy.
1. Henry Kirk is born in 1917 and I enter him into Legacy.

There is something in the options you can change. It asks you if they are
living or dead based on what age you have in this option. You can pump the age
up to something like 999 and then it won't ask you anymore.

If it's an Event you're talking about and I think from what you said, it
is, click the Edit button for that Event on a person where it's entered
correctly. Over on the right side, under the bigger buttons - under Help
are two smaller buttons, one for copy, one for paste. Click the copy
button

The procedure JL outlined is correct for copying the event;
however, as Jenny confirmed, the source does not copy.
I suspect the easiest (and quickest) option is to just

Sherry,
I'm assume that Legacy is using Windoz
Print Preview for the report screen display.
And I find no fault in that. In fact it is a plus
in that Legacy doesn't need to add
it to its own large code baggage.
I see I have Microsoft XPS Document Writer
installed in Printers and Faxes. Nothing
The 1891 census shows Bertie Knight as a 4-year-old daughter. I added
her as such. Then she appeared in 1901 as a 14-year-old son, working as
a hay binder. In 1911, she is also a son and still working as a hay binder.
It seems reasonably obvious that he was mislabelled in 1891, so I

I would suggest putting your findings in the Notes for the individual.
You may also put in an Alt Birth using the same birth information but adding
a note that the 1891 Census contains an error on gender and sourcing it with
the 1901 and 1911 Censuses.
If you also use new.FamilySearch verify
Jim,
I am right in thinking that you are still using V5. If so do you really expect
Legacy to amend such an outdated version?
This does not mean I agree with your comments, I don't.
