I'm adding pages from Family Search, FindAGrave, WikiTree and others.
I'm wondering what others think of it as I don't see much talk about it.
Also, I've checked how these sources port to Families app for
Thanks Tessa
I don't have any private events either. I have asterisks in boxes where there
is just one event so I don't think it's a size issue but if I change the paper
size to A3 it works!.

You were right - it is a size issue. The default page margins are way to big.

Hi Brian,
When I checked on updated on Acrobat 10 it told me there were no updates.
After your remark I checked the net and found XI - downloaded it and he
presto all is back to normal. Everything is opening in Adobe XI on my files
and in Legacy!
In answer to your comment concerning right clicking
Before we confuse anybody, Adobe Acrobat XI is the full program which allows
you to create and edit PDF files and sells for $299 for the standard edition.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is a freebie but only allows you to view and read PDFs. I
still find it strange why Legacy could not open your PDF
I just realized that when I click ViewName List and dis play a list of,
say, all the John Does in my family, they are not displayed in
chronological order.
Is there a way to change that?
Thanks,
Pat

I have to agree with you, Cathy. It was perfectly flexible before this change
in v8. ;)
At the very least, they could have had it default to checked in the conversion
to v8.

I have obviously gone wrong somewhere and checked or unchecked the box I
need to get my descendants book report to print, as a separate generation,
the most recent generation of my family line. Some time ago it printed the
sixth generation just fine. Now it stops with the fifth generation. Why? I
Do you have display of married names and/or AKA's turned on? We have a
problem report recorded in our system for the sorting order in the Name
list with those options turned on. If you turn off those two options the
names should sort in Chronological order if you are sorting by given or
surname.
With the cursor in the Surname box, the sort is by Surname, then Given Name(s),
then date of birth.
So all the John Does are sorted chronologically by date of birth, but John A.
Does and John B. Does will sort after all the John Does with no middle
initial/middle name. I assume that you are
Judy,
1. Make sure there 7 generations of descendants from the starting person.
2. Make sure that there are no broken links (disconnects) in the descendant
line.
3. Check/repair your family file. Click on File File Maintenance
Check/Repair and follow the prompts. If any error messages occur
By default the report does NOT include any separate entry for a anyone
has no children in the following generation. For example if a child of
generation 2 is married but has no children there will be no entry for
that child in generation 3, instead the details of their life, including
any spouse
For anyone who wonders why people do genealogy, this is a perfect
illustration that will open their eyes is how one viewer described today's
webinar by Tom Kemp. I agree - if you need a little motivation, don't miss
this recording. The recording of today's webinar, 50 Year View - What I've

I have Adobe Acrobat XI reader which is free and that is probably what she has
downloaded.

Hi Chuck,
You don't say which version of Legacy you are using.
In Legacy 8 on Family View in the top right corner of the Children area
is an icon to access a Child list where you can reorder, set status and
parent-child relationships. One of the ways Legacy 8 is less reliant on
right click menus.
