Once you get to a jillion, the brain needs a reset. Likewise , maybe the
report settings need to be reset. Try the reset button in the lower right
corner.

No...high hopes, but I guess not. I did and it didn't. The column on
the left allows some checks, but none at all on the column on the
right. There are boxes with the letter C to the right of some of the
items on the right side. I do not remember seeing those before. That
does not mean they
Hi Jane,

I wonder if you're not in the report you think you are. Have you gone to
the Descendant Chart instead of the Descendant Book Report or Descendant
Narrative Book Report?
If you are in the right report and reset settings didn't help, sometimes
it helps to close Legacy,

OK here's the thing: I need a descendant report from ancestor X. I am
certain there is some simple box to check or button to click that I am
overlooking here, but I can't select any options on the Report Option
screen. They just seem like they don't recognize the check. They don't

Was wondering if this testing using DNA is a valuable tool. Ancestry.com is
offering it and wanted some opinions on the technology, tks.

Yes you can copy the .fdb file to a CD but Legacy will not let you work
on it there. It offers to copy the file to your hard drive where it can
be modified.

I would use FTDNA or 23andme. You get to see the actual chromosome map with
either of those.

They let you 'add in' your DNA test from Ancestry - so you get both sides

Yes. I was able to confirm a line that had circumstantial evidence but I felt
needed one more hard fact. However, unless you are willing to share your tree
on Ancestry, you will not get full benefits. I pull out a barebones GedCom from
Legacy and uploaded it to Ancestry and link it to my test.
Very worthwhile. I recommend Family Tree DNA. It's the same price as
Ancestry and they will probably have a sale on DNA Day - which I believe
is April 14.
