Confirmed. It's the "Potential Problems Indicator" that was slowing everything down. I changed my setting and now the response is back to the expected near instantaneous. Wonder why it became so prevalent on the last upgrade. Or was it that it was slowing things down all along and we just now

Legacy had the same problem with version 7 when the default for Relationship Calculator was "on". Every time a new person was added or relinked, the Relationship Calculator would run, thus makung Legacy unavailable until it was finished. They solved the problem by removing that default. It

It *must* have something to do with the size of your database, together with how full the rest of your drive is. Mine is small by comparison (4000+ people), and when I do the clicks you describe, the requested action happens within a fraction of a second. And I mean a teensy-tiny fraction -
