There are two Facebook groups for Legacy - one is announcements at

of, and the other is the Legacy Users Group at

On the first group, users can't initiate posts but can respond
I for one find this conversation interesting, as I don't visit
Facebook, either, but didn't know if I was alone in thinking as
others have posted. And until this conversation started I didn't
even know there was a Legacy discussion there. (It means, for me,
that if the

Support – can you please call a halt to this idiocy. Who cares what it should
be or if anyone wants to use Facebook or doesn’t want to use Facebook. The
list still exists. Support – please call a stop to this stupidity.

I hardly ever go to my Facebook page, this is what I do:
I have notifications checked with "all posts" for Legacy and for the
other genealogy groups I have joined. I get the notice in my email and
only go to Facebook when I want to read all the comments. The ones I am
not interested in, I
As recent posts have shown, not everyone here wants to join FaceBook, only in
part because of their total disregard for privacy, invasive tactics, and
tracking of where you are even if you turn off tracking.

To make it even easier, if you are using a tablet or cellphone to view posts on
FB, you can use ‘screen save’ or just select ‘save this post’. Making it very
easy to find again under ‘My Saved Items’ in your own account. I save
several each day as some of the tips and tricks are well worth
Legacy is alive and well. Just check out their fb page and the standing room
only webinars...
One of the mailing lists got shut down...but so many use fb now...the lists are
redundant.
Searching fb for posts is very easy... just like using google...

I feel like I can and do fully participate in the Legacy Users FB group and I
am not a member of the staff or beta tester.

It appears to me that you need to be on the "Legacy Staff"
or a beta tester to fully participate on the fb users group.

I agree, I saw something on my mobile device in FB and when I got to the
desktop computer, I could not find it. FB is very disappointing for
doing research, much less helpful tips if you don't remember where you
saw it. At list with a listServ, you can search for the referenced
data, but

I think it is a reply to the previous response from Sherry that the
Facebook page is more active than the email list. There are many people
who dispise (even hate) FaceBook for the trash it provides and saw value
in the email list. Both should be able to coexist, but it appears that

With slave ancestral research, one is often faced with direct evidence vs.
indirect evidence. Many forms of direct evidence that emphatically prove
family relationships, birthplaces, and other happenings are often
non-existent because slaves were merely considered “property”. Some

I'm with you about Facebook. Used at one time but finding out stuff about
people I'd rather not know got rid of it several years ago. Not going to ever
use again. So if that's were all the posts are going this group is one more
thing I can get rid of.
