because of a complaint about privacy issues.

You can add and edit the roles, as they are called. When you are in the share
event window and adding or editing there is a dropdown box next to Role. Last
on that list is “Add/Edit Roles”.

I’m finding that some of these options are changing for no reason - the latest
- all my individual photos have stopped displaying, certainly not something I
did deliberately (It’s 8.9)
The other one I recall was Legacy started opening to Family File when I had it
set to Legacy Home View
When I am in the Possible Match tab window the (I) icons on the Family Search
pane are there but not available. It makes it difficult to accurately determine
whether the individual is a match or not because you cannot get any detail.
When in the Possible Duiplicates tab window, the (I) column
Yes I think that’s the way it is. There’s a note in the share data window after
you click an arrow saying shared events will not be included or something
similar.

In Legacy, when I generate a pedigree webpage through the Internet tab, with FS
numbers selected to be included, I also get the FS numbers added to the name in
the family view on Legacy.
So for example instead of having a family view name display of Bryan Pratt [1]

you generate a (Pedigree) webpage from Legacy for a website it makes the
bracket surname a new name in the lists.
So my (Firstname box) “Mary (spouse of Henry” (Second name box) “Pickett)”

way programmers, more knowledgeable than us, have structured the download and
upgrade process. If they don’t follow the recommendations, on their head be it.

the mother’s individual window I get the “People who share this event” window.
I select “Add one or more people” and “Select from the name

Legacy 8 (with the latest update) suddenly decided it wouldn’t open my usual
file, set up by name in options, and seemed to be looking in the old C: Legacy

I upgraded my Compaq laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8 and then Windows 8.1. I
would recommend you stay well away from them and stick to the much more stable
Windows 7. I’ve incurred nothing but trouble and expense with W. 8.

To add again my thoughts on this mix. The only way my paid technician found to
get W8.1 to work was to reconfigure it from 64 to 32 bit and install W 8.1 as
32 bit. I am totally ignorant of ‘bits’ but I just throw this in as an
experience I had.
I would still recommend staying away from W.8
After ploughing along for some hours (a lot of hours) working with my Legacy
family file and Family Search’s database, I’ve decided I’m not going to do
Family Search’s work of spending copious hours of cleaning up their rubbishy
data collection.
