what if you copy the research notes to a Word document or something, delete the
research notes, print the DNB (pdf) checking to see if it comes out the way you
want it to, and then go back and copy from Word/document

drive. I have been able to do that. It gives the family file name, date and
time, and that it is a compressed (zipped) file.

It sounds like you're using List rather than Sentence. You need to select the
Sentence option on the Format tab under the Event Narrative Formatting
button.
