I was working on our family history and had a little under 800 people in
the database. Then I got busy building our new house (as the general
contractor) and my Dad offered to work on it. This was great because he was
living in Maine (I'm in Texas) where most of the older folks are

gave him your database in GEDCOM format then use Steve's suggestion.
