Thanks, I'd looked there, but had just overlooked Death Date, I use that

Syble, do you use the Legacy - nFS (New Family Search Interface)? as I have had

I have noticed that when the nFS interface is in use that most edits on
my database do not stick. I asked Support (twice) under what conditions
that would happen,
MessageAlan,
Does that mean you can’t share your file with ANYONE? That goes completely
against how genealogy works! We would be nowhere if we couldn’t share info!

It's critical that we get the full original file in order to determine
what's going on with the message, preferably before running
check/repair to see where the nulls are before that process is run.
A gedcom or part of the file will not be helpful at all.
Ken *can* fix the file if we have it...
As I wrote before, we need the full original file
A gedcom changes things around too much when reimported into the
Family File and would not be at all helpful for this issue.

Carl,
No I've not used the Family Search interface from Legacy, but I do use the
familysearch.org website with a Legacy file open, and very likely I did on
this research occasion, I was hoping someone had a tree posted on my particular
person. This is strange and a real concern, especially
Syble,
I'm confident that accessing the familysearch web site outside of the nFS
Interface is OK. I've been monitoring heavy data entry on my tree using that
process for the last 3 weeks without losing any data.

Sherry, I don't know if my problem is the same as reported by Alan,
It's a database issue and most likely will not happen on the Sample file.

Fix his database. I'm talking about a null error and it's my
understanding that was resolved.
I worked on one a couple weeks ago and was not able to find where the
null was, but the programmers have a tool that can locate and fix it
quickly.
But if the issue with nulls and nFS wasn't

I was not able to duplicate your problem. In the web pages I tried to

Sherry, I also had a data not sticking problem which I thought was down to

The problem isn't with just that year date, it is happening throughout Legacy.
I type as
17 Jun 1938-9 or 17 Jun 1938/9and it shows up as 0009-17 Jun 1938 .
Just the input of a year it does not change. All the date slots.. Born, Bapt,

I have looked in
You need to enter the full year or else Legacy thinks it's in the first century.
If you're not sure of the year, then enter the date you're most sure
of in the field and add an alternate date.
If it's a date range, then enter 17 June 1938 - 17 June 1939
