Re: [LegacyUG] master source list

I have several sources for obituaries. If it's a newspaper, I cite the paper as my main source and the obituary itself in details. If it's the funeral home website, then I cite the website as the main with the individual in the detail (I also copy the specific page web address and include that in

So when you do have conflicting FAG memorials, are you choosing the one that seems to be the most accurate and put that in the new field? Then what are you doing with the other one, creating it as an event/alternate fact with explanation? I can see I'll have trouble with this one for sure because

I'm not upgrading either. I just got version 8 in November and it seems that version 9 won't work with my system anyway as I'm still running Windows Vista. It will be at least a year before I can afford a new computer. Cynthia D. -- LegacyUserGroup mailing list LegacyUserGroup@legacyusers.com

[LegacyUG] Date calculator?

2016-03-26 Thread C. DeLay
I swear that I've used a date calculator within Legacy to convert a date from an age (like died aged 2 years 10 months and two days) to then calculate a birthday date but I can't find it now. Can someone direct me to where it is please? I am using 7.5 but do have the basic version of 8 installed.

Re: [LegacyUG] Entering Adoptions

I have something similar with my brother. He's my mom's son but not my dad's and there was never a formal adoption, just a name change (I know there was paperwork but I do not have it nor have I seen it). I still list him as the adopted son of my father because that is the relationship they have.

I accidentally deleted the election event from my master list. Can someone please post the standard sentences that go with this event so I can recreate it? Thanks! Cynthia D. Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009:

[LegacyUG] Transcription of Wills - where's the best place to record them?

2015-07-09 Thread C. DeLay
I've come across online images to lots of will books that relate to my research (yeah! I don't have to pay to have pages copied or travel long distances to get tot he original books) and although I'm sourcing the information I get out of them, I'm not sure where the best place to include a

[LegacyUG] Grandchildren-Grandparent relationship connection

Just out of curiosity, where or what type of sources would you look at to try and find out the types of crops or number and type of animals were present on a farm at a particular point in time (say 1850-1940)? I have LOTS of farmers in my tree and I'd love to get some ideas on what types of
