Jud,
I agree that following standards is the best way and support you in
your decision.
It's unfortunate that mailer agents (or ISP managers) sometimes
mis-apply the standards.

Hope this sheds more light on the situation for others who are trying

I thought you would want to know that LR Admin is not quite up to your
standards in this area.
Hope that helps,

Hello Jud,
It would be helpful to know what you intend for the bounce log
"Reason" codes to mean. In other words, what do the 2, 3, and 4 in
the bounce logs indicate?
Thanks,
Marty

Hello Jud,
I'm having a problem with the latest release sending duplicated
messages.
I send individually addressed messages and it's important to me to do
it that way. Some hosts don't want to receive very many messages in a
connection, and they break off a connection with an error. When
Hello Jud,
Was there a change in the return address in 4.05 (1404)? Outlook
clients are now displaying a return address that looks like:

I agree that this return address is more factual and informative, but

Hello Jud,
LR Server is halting. Restarting manually results in an immediate
stop. Removing the next-up Incoming message (the one it just logged
just before quitting) allows it to proceed without halting again. I
can't see anything about the Incoming message that is particularly
weird.
Hello Jud,
Is it safe to quit LetterRip_Server from the Finder, as in
LetterRip_Server > Quit LetterRip_Server
Or does this potentially lose information about Server work in progress?
Often I prefer not to go through the LetterRip_Admin > Stop Server

Good luck on isolating the cause.

If not, then it seems misleading to say that the header serves the
same purpose as VERP.
I want automated bounce removal that works 100% of the time. I think
we almost have that, except for the obfuscated addresses.
Thanks,

Hello,
Boadcasting a large list with many yahoo addresses will usually
provoke the resources not available response.

another server to see if that helped.
You could also log top output to disk every few seconds. That might
show you what process has run amok in your post mortem examination.

It may be important to install a script to monitor LetterRip_Server
because it has been observed to halt unexpectedly and rarely. See
recent posts on this list.
