For photos, think about turning off geotagging on your phone or digital
camera so that the information doesn’t get included in the first
place. You’ll usually do that in your phone’s “Location
Settings.” Instructions here
While disabling geo-tagging in your camera app is a great first step,

I'd also like to note a small detail the author missed. Robert King, the
photographer who took the McAfee pic, is the same photographer who was
recently in Syria for vice. Let's hope he didn't make the same mistake
there.
