Hello,

well I do not understand... I downloaded my own attachment and

it is behaving as it should?  so no bug at all.. sorry for that ..

yesterday it definitively made troubles..probably the rebooting of win10 this
morning would have healed the whole thing..

Description:
1)   Poor documentation. Wrong documentation. Nobody look at it for a long
time, I suppose.
2)   Conditional Formatting work randomly.


Steps to Reproduce:
2.1) Select number of cells - a column "C" for example 
2.2) Go to Format - Conditional Formatting ~...~ Assigning Formats by Formula
2.3) Paste =ISFORMULA(C1) 
( 1} Thats the question by itself - why I should write cell but not column? 
  2} Plus in example in documentation
https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Assigning_Formats_by_Formula it shown with
"=" symbol but after "=" cut by system. )
2.4) After that OK-OK and got nothing.
2.5) Back to edit (very often Edit even not open - you should delete and readd
it again) and change "C1" to some random cell a few times. Got random luck
after that.

Actual Results:  
Random result. >90% no result

Expected Results:
Work as expected

We did have a similar issue with bug 102901--but that 

And the specific issue dealing with old MS .FON files, bug 98710 -- I
specifically checked those STR and there is no recurrence of that issue.

@Lynne, is there any specific font you've installed that on you list of
previews that seems to hang then crash--you can try to scroll downward and then
upward to when producing a crash try to isolate it.

Also, does the crash occur with both OpenGL rendering (default on Windows when
system supports it) and with Default rendering (activated when OpenGL support
breaks).

Could you post the content from the Help -> About LibreOffice dialog.

Would be interested in the crash reports for this. On restart are you presented
with the option to file the report?  Please complete that process and post the
link it lists.

Otherwise, suspect the high number of fonts is running you out of memory. For
starters go to the Tools -> Options -> View panel and uncheck the "Show preview
of fonts", that will make the drop list of fonts on the Formatting toolbar show
simple Font names rather than previews, and likewise the drop list in the
Sidebar Properties deck--Character--content panel.

See if working with the font preview disabled prevents the crash when scrolling
the font lists--scrolling a list as previews is memory and CPU intensive.

Here is the update.
I formated the HD and reinstalled Ubuntu.
Now I am running version 14. I do not want to mess up with 16.

I have 2 personal computers with Ubuntu, and within 1 week I had to reinstall
the Ubuntu on both of them.
One of them, I could not connect my PC to a TV set, which is a very ordinary
thing in the last 15 years, on any OS. I could not. I followed different ideas
executed sudo commands, installed who knows what, nothing helped.
At one point, I could not boot with my original screen. PC would boot, but will
show nothing on either screen.

The other computer stopped booting for no obvious reasons. I would try to boot
in safe mode, it would not. The last option, I installed the OS on a different
HD.
Ever since I reinstalled the Ubuntu, the problem with disappearing pages never
manifested again.

I am sorry, but I feel Ubuntu does not deserve the respect people give it for
stability and reliability.

It is all about the Styles...

You handle this from the Paragraph Style dialog's "Indents & Spacing" tab. Each
paragraph object will set its spacing above and spacing below as well as its
line spacing. 

Just look at the difference between Default style and Text Body style and you
should see how to adjust things to your liking.

Description:
All word processors, allow the users to select a fond and its size, for
example, Calibri, 11 points.
Fine, the problem occur when you press enter. You get exaclty this.

An ugly space. And if you press enter again...

You see the ugly space. In serious documents, with a beautiful quality, you
will see spaces do not show the same size in points than the text itself.

Of course you can configure this in LibreOffice, of course you can create an
style and of course you can edit those spaces, but it takes time.

The good thing would be adding a simple option in the document properties that
allow us to configure the size in points for the empty lines, every time we
press return. In the same way you can select your font and your size, you
should be able also to select the size in points of the empty lines, when you
press enter. In that way, you can create very beautiful documents, perfectly
styled in seconds, without having to edit, create a particular style, search
for that style, apply the style, etc.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just press enter in writer, the lines will have the same size in points than
the text itself, and you cannot configure a different size in points for empty
lines
2.

Actual Results:  
Write text, press enter

Expected Results:
You should have the possibility to select the size in points for empty lines,
so when you press enter, the spaces between lines can show the same size than
the font size (for example, 11 points) or a different size 9 points.
In that way, you can be writting a document with a font in 11 points, and
creating empty lines, when pressing enter, of a different size, 9 points for
example.
The results will create a very beautiful document, in seconds.

JUST ADD AN ADDITIONAL TEXT BOX, THAT ALLOW SETTING THE SIZE IN POINTS FOR THE
EMPTY LINES, WHEN PRESSING ENTER.

Impress will crash after showing an empty dialog with a caution sign (yellow
triangle) with an OK button when selecting View > Slide master after opening
the slide transition sidebar. After re-starting, the document recovery is
initiated and everything runs well until the same sequence is performed.

1. Open LO
2. Select Create > Impress Presentation
3. Cancel the "Select a Template" dialog
4. Open the Slide Transition sidebar
5. From the menu, select View > Slide Master

OR

1. Open an existing presentation
2. Open the Slide Transition sidebar
3. From the menu, select View > Slide Master


Actual Results:  
A panel pops up. This panel has no text in it, only a "Caution" sign (yellow
triangle with an exclamation mark), and an OK button. Impress closes after the
OK button is pressed; unsaved changes are lost.

Expected Results:
Open the Slide Master.

- EditEngine

Behavior has changed with LO update from first report.  No longer glitchy
jumps.  Now calm left or right displacement of WYSIWYG page within Writer
window.

Have .webm about 1 minute 30 secs of dynamic behavior with title cards and
everything but it is 15 MB and there is a 10MB attachment size limit.  Is there
an alternate method for submitting video?

The F1 & +F1 are shortcuts used by the Help system--cross platform.

F6, F10, +F6, +F6 are all used for navigation shortcuts integral
to our a11y support.

Accordingly they are all internally "reserved" within VCL [1] and can not be
modified with the Customize dialog and XML adjustment. In other words they are
hardcoded and will not be changed.

In bug 105225 we collect all places where the latest changes to palettes have
not been implemented yet.

Workaround is to use the sidebar (Properties > Cell Appearance > Background) or
the toolbar (Formatting > Background Color) where all the exciting new features
are available.

Left click somewhere at the bottom in order to get the blue quick add tab.
There you can click the + symbol to actually add the footer, and finally insert
the page number and format it as you like.

Automatically insert at the footer is a WONTFIX because users may want to add
the page number to the header, which would double your left/center/right idea,
but also at any place within the current paragraph.

There is another facet to this particular bug in that the source PDF looks to
contain PS Type 1 fonts output from the LilyPond music scoring program.

Suspect that even if extracted these fonts would not render, and would receive
fallback. Not clear if the encoding is PUA or Unicode so results may be odd.

(Ab)using spreadsheet software for project management purposes is actually
considered terrible among project management professionals. There are already
specialized open source tools available for that, e.g. ProjectLibre or
GanttProject. And even those are quite limited and have their issues. Although
much better than spreadsheets.

If you have a few weeks or 5.3.2 or 5.3.3 [1] would be a good bet, but if your
labs are on Windows systems, you should plan to use the "default" GDI/GDI+
rendering rather than OpenGL rendering. 

Say this because the new HarfBuzz based common layout has a number of issues
with our DirectWrite/Direct2D implementation that are being worked
through--some are quite annoying especially with the Formula editor and in-line
formulas.  The GDI/GDI+ "default" rendering avoids many of these but then
misses some of the other features that OpenGL rendering offers.  The 5.1 and
5.2 builds do not make use of HarfBuzz based layout on Windows and do not have
the same improvements to font handling on Windows that were needed for the
HarfBuzz common layout.

More details - I'm an author so I work on long documents, but they max out at
around 80k words normally. There's no fancy formatting and no images. I use
standard fonts for writing, like TNR, Book Antiqua, Georgia and Garamond. My
CPU is 16 gb of Kingston Hyperfury, and the system is on an SSD in a tower.
Just before the program crashes, I get the error message "bad allocation."

it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to

Right, same issue as with nodes with sqrt and nroot. But it is a little cleaner
with theses elements if the spacer is placed after the symbol.

So,

1 over sqrt {%mu`}

or 

1 over nroot {`%epsilon}{%mu`}

It still shifts the base line for the symbols glyph, but does not add too much
space between radix and symbol.

Again this has little to do with the font metrics--and is mostly with the way
nodes are composed.

But, we should not need to use the spacers to get correct base line format.

I forgot to mention that I already tested it in safe mode. The results were the
same.

I'm using the 64 bit version of LibreOffice 5.3.0.3 on Windows 10. This
concerns Writer, which I use every day. 
I'd say this is a formatting problem. When I highlight text and try to change
the font, if I scroll the font LibreOffice always crashes. It's fine if I
change the name of the font by typing it in. This behavior is consistent. I
have around 2000 fonts installed. 
If I change the font in Styles, the same thing happens if I try to scroll the
fonts, rather than typing in the name. LO crashes.

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is
br-29c807c5-48c8-4039-a8b7-49732c89e457.

Long story short: Writer crashes on startup. LO then asks to submit a crash
report, followed by the document recovery dialog. Then it automatically starts
Writer again (instead of opening the main dialog showing recent documents),
which promptly crashes again. The only way out of this loop is by terminating
the LO process and opening it back up by starting something other than Writer
or Draw (Draw is also affected by the same problem, but Calc and Impress are
not). 

I've first started seeing this bug yesterday, when I was still on 5.1.5.
Updating to 5.3.0.3 did not fix it.

I realize that although I can this perfectly reproduce it every time by simply
opening Writer or Draw (either with a new document or an existing one), it is
probably not easy to reproduce for others (since it is likely specific to
certain OS configurations). Nonetheless, while this bug stands, it is
impossible for me to use Writer or Draw.

Description:
If I make a list using a, b, c ...etc, and I use tab to space them out from the
left border, the space will get undone starting at 'c' and continue with each
following letter.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.tab+type'a.'+space+enter
2.tab+type'b.'+space+enter
3.tab+type'c.'+space+enter
the problem occurs at this step and continues on with each letter afterwards

Actual Results:  
After pressing enter after the space after 'c.' to start the line for 'd.', the
tab space for 'c.' will be undone as well as the space after it. The line will
revert to just "c." with no spaces before or after. Going back and adding tab
and space again fixes it and does not repeat for that particular line only.
Lines 'a.' and 'b.' are not affected.

Expected Results:
I expect the tab spacing to remain, regardless of lettering or numbering used
when making a list.

and the rendering is fine.

BTW, the same spacer trick works for root also. Maybe we should change the bug
title. For exemple, there is not enough space under the root here :

1 over sqrt{%mu}

and with the spacer, it is ok:

1 over sqrt{`%mu}

I asked because we will adopt the 5.2 stable branch for our science students
(4.3 now) and since we have custom documentations and workarounds we don't want
to change version each year. Maybe I could push 5.3 even if not stable, but we
will stick to that version for a while after. The default lower greek italic
would had been a good feature for us. Also, if it does nothing for existing
formulas, the change would not break anything. However, I don't have the full
picture and will respect the decision.

Yes, but I'm on 5.1.4.2 right now. I will upgrade to 5.2 and it should be ok.

Rerunning these standalone show the 1 OutputDevice, 1 VirtualDevice from other
tests. Curious.

Rerunning standalone showed no issues. Thus:

and chart2_unoapi leaking OpenGL and a window. are the only remaining issue.
Once that is fixed, we _could_ think about adding the attached patch to debug
builds and make those barf up if more than the expected 1 OutputDevice, 1
VirtualDevice are left over. This should help detect regressions early.

In bug 69098 writer does not show check boxes in a word document, word does. It
looks like the reverse problem.
What I found is that calc does not save the check boxes with the document when
saving it in .XLSX format. It is about saving, not about file-opening or
rendering.

Probably not.

5.2 is essentially EOL with 5.2.6.1 already posted, and 5.3 is feature locked
(so would be possible but need approval, but Takeshi preferred not to). 

Reasoning was that a lot of users are used to the %i italic syntax, and while
the mode 2 has been cleaned up, it does nothing for existing formulas. Didn't
want to confuse folks.

But it was deemed appropriate for 5.4 with enough lead time, so default has
been set for master/5.4.

Did you restart?

IIRC from bug 52225 -- GreekCharStyle of 0 (default) should be no Italic, 1
should be all italic. And 2 was not correctly implemented.  I've just checked a
