In my opinion the problem is less concerned with selection of text fonts to
math operations (what is generally a risky approach), and more with need of
correct glyphs in math fonts.

Adding to this bug. It seems that there are inconsistency depending on OS. For
example on a Server 2008 LibO versions 3.5.1.2 and 3.6.3.2 show a nice square
root sign, but versions 3.6.2.2
