Hello!
I've wrestled all evening with Ghostscript, Lilypond, TeX, LaTeX, and
Denemo. For the life of me, I cannot get Lilypond to make *beautiful*
sheet music. Not printed, not converted to PDF, not saved into a
PostScript file, won't look nice in Ghostview, nor even seen from within
The GIMP.
Hello,
I am running Red Hat Linux 7.2, and lilypond version 1.4.11-1. I'm
trying to compile a moderately large piece (75 measures of full band
score), and I get the following error when invoking ly2dvi:
Analyzing default.tex...
Running LaTeX...
error: latex: command exited with value 256
I am about to finish transcription of a Bach piece
for piano. It looks nice except that I only have5 systems (i.e. pair of
cleff and bass staffs) in each page, and I would like to have 6. How can make
them fit? How do I reduce the inter system spacing to allow for one additional

Anyway, could you please send your setup.log and setup.log.full?

I downloaded 'setup.exe' last wednesday, so I suppose it's the
latest version.
Yes, ok.
I have also tried rerunning setup and selecting 'reinstall' on every
package, but the problem remains the same.
I've included 'setup.log' and 'setup.log.full'

I you use the pianostaff-environment and don't have any knees (beams

Hi,
I am using Lilypond on cygwin and am trying to get
it onto my Linux box Mandrake 8.0. None of the binaries work,
and although I built guile (apparently
successfully), when I try to run ./configure in lilypond, it complains that I
can't find either libqthreads.so.0 or guile-config

Hi
Another question.
I found how to do French accents in the online

Could you try to be a bit more specific; what is the command you
give, and what is the error message?
I've got a Mandrake 8.2 partition here,

As an alternative to the answer you already got,
you could also simply use the cedilla key on your
keyboard. The output should be correct as long as
you use ly2dvi (since it uses the latin1 input encoding),
even though Lilypond itself will not recognize the
character while it calculates the
