Mats, this is bizarre:- That appeared to work (see output). So I ran ly2dvi -p example-1.ly and it worked! The only change I've made to the computer since yesterday was install IE 6 SP1 and associated security patches (Was using IE 5.0). Thanks for your help. Best wishes, Adrian $
