Hi all,
I've got an issue here with rests.
I have three voice score with rests in the second voice . There simply is
not enough space for the rest between the highest and the lowest note, so I
tried to move the rest to the left using:
\once \override Rest #'extra-offset = #'(-1 . 0)
Is there a

I was about to start writing short version to show how it is in code when I

The arrows represent the alteration
that changes a Pythagorean major
third to a perfect major third.
And MIDI will output this, right?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
In those type of cases, when not enough room for offsets, I also use :
{
%\once\set fontSize = #-2
%or
\once\teeny a'4\rest
}
Cheers,

Hi lily ponders:
I try to do as LSR sample, but have a hard time to place \partcombine in \score
to make it works.
What is the difference between LSR \score and my \score?
Any help is appreciated.

How can I tell LilyPond to allow the tie on the D to come
closer to the noteheads, without resorting to manual tweaks?
I'm assuming some combination of Tie.details properties will
do the trick, but I can't figure it out, and the Tie.details
properties are not documented...

The 2nd Hairpin.height value in \alterBroken seems to get ignored. Is this a
limitation, or my bad syntax?I'm dealing with a broken multi-bar hairpin. Not
being able to adjust heights per segment results in either too-narrow first or
too-wide second hairpin segment.

Hi Ming,
partcombine takes two parameters of music. The difference is, that you
wrap your music in Voice contexts. These Voice context are also created
from within the voices partcombine creates, so the partcombinig effect
is overridden. To have partcombine work and also have lyrics aligned to
Thanks for the tip, I might use that.
