Thanks Kieren, I ended up using Malte's snippet, although I will keep yours
handy as well.

Well, that seems to work the same as leaving the s16 off. That is, the
staff lines don't extend over the new time signature.
I've attached a PNG where the top time signature is engraved incorrectly
and the bottom time signature is correct.

Hi Knute,
Using s16*0 solves most of the problem. =)
Hope that helps!

My situation is this: I have two \score sections and at the end of the
first I want to alert the reader that the next staff will have a time
signature change. Lilypond does this for me perfectly within a score but
between two scores it gets problematic. Consider this code:

Hi all,
I've installed the latest lilypond dev version 2.19.42 on ubuntu 16.04
following the instructions on the lilypond website:
http://lilypond.org/unix.html
namely with:
$ sh lilypond-2.19.42-1.linux-64.sh
But when I cd to my home directory and run
$ lilypond/usr/bin/lilypond test.ly

I don't think consumers first looking at a name will go to a blog on the
internet to find out how to pronounce it. Dorico is going to be pronounced
like Dorito a lot in the beginning. At least everyone knows what a lily pond
is and how to say it. In any case, the name is probably not very

Hi Julian,
Here’s an option slightly less opaque (but also slightly less general) than the
LSR snippet to which you were directed:
\version "2.19.37"
threedots =
\tweak stencil #ly:text-interface::print
\tweak text \markup { \musicglyph #"scripts.staccato" \hspace #-0.4
\musicglyph
Thanks everybody for the succinct answers!
Playing around with \draw-dotted-line should be fun.
Have a good day, all.

The accent is on the first syllable, not the second, so "Dorico" does not sound
at all like "Dorito".
