Has anyone found a way to draw the following in Penderecki's style?
1. irregular glissando lines or clusters
2. the symbols for bowing behind the bridge consisting of an arch and two or
four vertical lines crossing through it
3. horizontal lines through the staff consisting of (a) dots only or

How can I make an unmeasured tremolo mark (three slanted lines) between two
staves to indicate a trill with two chords, one for each hand? What can be
tweaked to move the marking up or down?
I have seen this use in the piano part of Messiaen's Quator pour la fin du
temps.
Thanks.

Why does lilypond choke on feathered 8:10 notes but handles 4:6 no problem?
The first example works (even the slur works), but the second doesn't.
Thanks.

Has anyone made a symbol for playing behind the bridge? The only markings I
see in the snippets repository are harmonics, snap pizz, and up and down
bows.
Thanks.

I want to draw square brackets taller than staff height to indicate, for
example, free rhythm with specified pitches using stemless noteheads inside
the brackets. I believe Penderecki and others have used them.
Right now I'm trying text markup but can't get the brackets big and heavy

Hi, folks, I have attached two files for a sextet. The reason for the format
is I have to break them out into parts, but I'm willing to hand-generate
those if that's the best solution. I'm having three problems having to do
with staves.
1. How do I make the percussion staves Percb, Percd, and

Gilles, thanks for the suggestion. violin works but not viola --

This will do -- I never expected MIDI to capture the difference between the
instruments anyway : P .

Sorry, forgot to change the Subject heading.

Hi again. I did some more work and found that viola and vibraphone are
silent while voice oohs, glockenspiel, and violin (and default
acoustic grand) play ok.
If anyone can tell me if I'm missing something it would be greatly helpful.
I have attached one file for your convenience.

Thanks, Mats, but I wish it were super thick and right on the edge of the
noteheads.

Have you seen the example called arpeggio-bracket.ly in the Regression Tests

I'm trying to draw a vertical line between two noteheads, positioned
opposite from the stem. It notates a cluster with the noteheads giving
the range.
(the make cluster function, as Antti wrote in

, is not precise enough)
I'm trying to notate acciaccaturas in one hand/staff preceding a main note
in the other (not piano, but that's irrelevant). I've seen the thread

that might help me write these multi-staff grace notes?
