Yep I loved XP Pro but Vista came with the machine and pennies count. 
To be honest I don't have many problems with it -  must just be lucky.
 
Thanks for the tip to lop off the end now I have discovered the rich world of 
the Lilypond user archive - you learn something every
day. 
 
No sniggering at the back there.....

Well, there's a couple things right there ;-) 

Sorry, I could not resist. 

(WinXP Pro SP3 32-bit here...hope to "upgrade" soon) 

On a more serious note, I just copy and paste the URL into my  browser 
(Chrome), and chop off the end, so it takes me to the
archived messages, then just navigate to the one I want.
