In this case, I would go for two separate voices, with separate stem directions to make it easier to read. For example: \score{\notes\relative c'{ \time 3/4 \partial 4 c4 | {e4. f8 g4 | d4. ( e8 f ) d | c2. |} \\ {g2. ~ | g ~ | g ~ | g ~ |} }} See the section on Polyphony in the manual.

multi-measure rests

The manual gives something like this for multi-measure rests. It works if I don't try the 5 bar rest before '\mark 1'. With that rest included I get everything on one line. I tried various combinations of turning Score.skipBars on and off with no success. Any ideas? TIA, Paul Scott
