Hi all! I have IBM z37 Generation 6. So I just wanted to know whether if it worth a try (or possible ) to test the Sap R/3 on one of our LPAR's. If it is I just wanted to know which version of RedHat Linux can I use and if possible send me some URL/documentation that I can read about these

an STK/Silo that I ran 5 Years Ago had VM, MVS, Honeywell, and Unisys all accessing tapes in the Silo's the difficulty was the tape drives and keeping only one system connected at a time. We dedicated drives to each system, but things have probably changed since than. Larry -Original

I would certainly be interested to hear of any solution for Linux that would let it participate in the silo environment. I think what you'll find is that you'll have to use an archival system, such as Tivoli or the equivalent, to backup the data and the achival system then interface with the silo.
