Hi,
Omitting of c did the trick. Thank you very much. But when you install
oracle on Sles8, do not forget, that cc is not installed by default.

Hi Folks,
Refresh my memory please, do the current releases of RedHat Linux for
z/Series fully support LVM? I seem to recall there being a problem, but
frankly have not followed the discussion closely.

I would think not. The MP effect usually guarantees
that 1 2-processor system is significantly less than 2
1-processor systems. The amount of lost
capacity has decreased over the years, but it is still
non-zero.
2 processors, running at capacity, would be about 1.8x
of 1 processor.
However,
Is anyone running any of the following products on
SuSE SLES8 or SLES8+SP3 for zSeries?
Java Secure Soecket Extension (JSSE) 103
Install Shield Professional MultiPlatform 5.02
AFS
XSD Eclipse and EMF Version 2.0.0
Opend Development Environment (ODE)
Install Sharity 2.8
Any info would be helpful.

We currently maintain OpenAFS for zSeries and provide support for it. Works
fine. Contact me offline if you've got questions about it.

I think that some info needs to be cleared up. sysctl -w kernel.hz_timer=1
will DISABLE the timer patch. sysctl -w kernel.hz_timer=0 will ENABLE the
timer patch. The best way I have found to check this(only when running
under VM) is to use the CP trace facility (tip from the Boeblingen lab).
Any one using an Instant Messenger on L/390? If so, which one?
Thanks,

GAIM works nicely.

I like it too. I think it uses Jabber protocol, which uses XML. Nice thing
is, GAIM can talk Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Jabber .
But I am not using any of these on our LPAR.

From within my putty ssh session to Linux LPAR, when I run x3270, some of
my PF keys are translated to
F1 = [11~
F2 = [12~
F3 = [13~
All other function keys seem to work OK!
I am not using X, only ssh command line interface.
Should I override these in .x3270pro file? Does c3270 use .x3270pro
That looks like VT100 (aka ANSI) escape sequences to me. I am using putty
also. On the tab entitled Terminal/Keyboard, I have Linux selected under
The Function keys and keypad.

Figured out what happened. My putty settings used the defaults. The
function keys are sent as Esc[11~
I changed the terminal settings to use Xterm R6 function keys and
everything worked.
Of course I am still working out Reset, PA1 etc
This is where my own key map would be helpful.

I doubt you'll find a binary for it. You can get a source RPM here:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.0/suse/src/gaim-0.67-55.src.rpm
and build it from that, perhaps. One thing to keep in mind, is that this is
an X-based application, which means you'll be burning a lot of CPU, just to
