The root of the issue, which I did not realize was a problem, is that I am running on a z15 processor. The zLinux is a z/VM virtual machine (guest). In preparation for the RHEL 8 update-in-place, I first had to update RHEL 7.6 o 7.8 that all went fine and of course this zLinux system has been
