Adam, Matt, Robert, From what I have seen on the z series that Robert and myself are working on is that under /dev/dasd and /dev/discs are not linked symbolically. The systat package is point to disk in the .c files. I wonder is the source would need to be changed to reflect dasd instead of disc?
