I have used SLES8 SP3 to export to an AIX 5 system without problems. I
did need to make sure that the insecure option was specified in the exports
file. For example:
/software *(rw,insecure,no_root_squash)

If you are going to run Linux under VM/ESA V2R3, then you need to make
sure that you have UM29175 (VM61762), and ? (VM62337) installed. These
PTFs supplied IEEE Floating point simulation. If you are on a G5 or
later, you might not need these, but to be safe, I would make sure they
