I have setup an environment with an LDAP SDBM and TDBM backend and so far it is
working great. I can authenticate and bind my userid's to it and it works just fine.
However when i want to eliminate having account information in local etc files and
simply use ldap for this
which tells me somewhere in my configuration it is trying to lookup
information in a file on linux somewhere.
What does id test and id kge8889 return?
Just a hunch - is nscd running? Try rcnscd stop then try again.

i turned nscd off. Also both id test and id kge8889 return the same things as noted in
my original post.
