Hello Linux enthusiasts,

We are in the process of gathering proposals for sessions at SHARE in
Atlanta next March. We are looking for people to talk about their
experience with Linux on IBM zSystems. If you are a Linux admin, you
probably have an experience that other Linux admins would like to hear
about. Do you routinely provision, update, migrate, automate, or monitor
Linux virtual systems? Then you have something you could share. The Linux
project is looking for people who would consider a presentation by
themselves or who would be willing to be part of a panel in a discussion
about some aspect of the Linux admin experience. Here are some possible
ideas:

   - Provisioning, image personalization, automation (Ansible?), boot
scripts, IUCV interface, Linux command interface, etc
   - Patching: using a vendor provided tool, automation using a tool such
as Ansible, scheduling, maintaining production workload during patching
   - Business resiliency: multiple virtual servers, multiple z/VM images,
   multiple CPCs, multiple data centers
   - Business recovery: backup and recovery (file level, entire virtual
images), using tools in Linux, z/VM, z/OS, or something else

We know the challenges some people have with sharing information and we are
not asking you to share any processes that include your business details.
In most cases, individuals are allowed to share concepts, tool sets, and
anything that doesn't give away specific company business processes.
Technology is not unique to your business.

If you are willing to participate, you can submit an idea using the SHARE
Call for Presentations at
https://www.share.org/Events/SHARE-Atlanta-Call-for-Presentations.
If you are willing to join a discussion session, you can reply to me and
let me know what topic you are interested in.
