try with ldapsearch how exactly you have to connect
to your ldap server. I also don't know the pam ldap modules so I can't
tell you how to configure those.

So is nobody using IBM's JDK on s390? Are those with tomcat using
blackdown instead?
The servlets work when called by tomcat, but fail when I try to execute
them directly with the java binary (/opt/IBMJava2-s390-131/bin/java)
because it can't find the javax
questions.

can say that the new RH betas (the coming RH 8.0) include support for
LVM. Installer reconizes LVM partitions, can change/create them and all
lvm commandline tools are present.
We only have to wait for a Linux/390 version of this new release cycle.

is get the source rpm and do rpm --rebuild
ipvsadm-xxx.src.rpm. This will create a binary rpm that you can install.
