Hello
I often have usb disk hangs when accessing data on my usb disk while
my usb nova-t device is plugged (and dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 is loaded).
I've worked to Alan Stern (to be honest, I filled the bug report and
he did all the code :o) ), to fix this issue to no avail.

No the current situation is (with 2.6.22.6 and AMD64, SB600 chipset):
- failure when using usb disk + dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 loaded with no
dvb-t traffic (i.e I'm not watching or recording a channel)
- no usb disk failure when using usb disk

Looks like it's a pure dvb bug: I had a dvb failure this evening
without any usb disk involved. The only usb device is the Nova-T
device.
Sorry, I forgot to attach kern.log output (even though there's not a
lot of informations):

Natalie,
None of these bugs apply to the DVB subsystem, afaict.
As a matter of fact, the following bug is much more likely to happen
if dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 is loaded.

Can you give me a hint how the high level API should be accessed

As Christophe said, it's mostly a matter of sending PMT messages.
There used to be a ca_zap program written by Manu Abraham, but I can't
find any reference

As far as i know, a CAM can decrypt only 1 channel at the same

Aston dual CAM (Viacess and others) can decrypt 2 channels at a time
(provided the CI stack on Linux side can provide correct informations).

Well, did the stack support it? Has anybody tested it?

And does the linux CI stack provide this?
There's the rub. There's no such thing as the linux CI stack.

I'd say Aston. They sell Irdeto CAMs:
