Can someone confirm the disk and volume limits I'd have on a 2950 (the
original version) with a PERC 5/i when using 3.5 SAS disks?
- - Can I stick 600GB disks in one?
- - What limits are there on array sizes (can I stick 6 x 600GB disks in a
RAID-5
The largest currently supported SAS drives are 600GB.
There is a limit for RAIDs/Virtual Disks but that is merely theoretical and
can't be met with just 6x HDDs.
But with 6x 600GB HDD in a RAID5 you will not see the full 3TB in OS because
the 600GB have only around 550GB net capacity.

We just had the PCI riser replaced on a 2850 because the embedded PERC 4
had failed. While reloading the Oracle applications, the DBA reported
that 17Gb copy that took 10 minutes on the development server with
identical hardware and software (to the extent possible), took over an
hour on the prod
Hi,
I am running into an issue when trying to configure multipath connections to a
iSCSI target in CentOS 5.5.
When I configure my interface files in /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces/ and try to do a
discovery I am not getting multiple connections. Trying to do discovery using a
specific interface

Hi All,
Anybody have a thought on this? Having this issue isn't the end of
the world, as my software raid array simply rebuilds after every
reboot ;)
Hopefully once OMSA for RHEL6 comes out, I can try updating everything
and see if that helps.
I just tried this on my RHEL5.5 box and I couldn't reproduce this issue.
I think you are trying to hand create the iface files instead of letting
iscsiadm create the iface file for you and probably the discover db is corrupted
I think it would be a good idea to delete the discovered node and
I can't seem to find the linux cli tools for managing the
H800 controller anymore; I used to just go to a server
that came with one and could grab it from the raid sas
category but nothing there currently for an R900 and
redhat.
Thanks,
David

I have similar problem with R610 and the latest BIOS update
PER610_BIOS_LX_2.2.10.BIN
This version 2.2.10 is not included yet into either yum repository or the
lifecycle controller (F10 on system startup), so I could not try other ways
to upgrade.
As per Jeff's suggestion, I have extracted files
