This does fix insert/removal of my devices, but suspend/resume
still kills the box. I'll have some backtraces later tonight or tomorrow.
I don't have anything now because my serial console computer just died. :(

I applied the patch, on top of 2.6.6-rc1 and Alan Stern's urgent
UHCI patch. Still freezes, NMI watchdog kicks in, and oopses.

Now that I have the nmi watchdog working, here is a suspend/resume
crash with my gamepad connected. System is ThinkPad X40 with ehci/uhci.
Kernel 2.6.6-rc1.
I can send any disassembly or whatever needed.

I'm not sure if this is fixed in some patch, but I though most of
the recent patches are in 2.6.6-rc1.

This oops may be similar to the others from my ThinkPad X40, but
since it is for a different device, I'm including it anyway.

USB doesn't really work on my ThinkPad X40. It either panics or oopses
if I unplug a device or suspend/resume using APM.
I'm running standard kernel 2.6.5-rc3-mm4, but this has never
worked on any kernel back to 2.6.3. USB works more or less OK with
2.4.25, but I cannot run 2.4 thanks to
The last 2.4.13-ac kernel (2.4.13-ac8) has this interesting line in the
changelogs:
o Add support for one shot interrupt urbs (Maksim Krasnyanskiy)
in usbdevfs
Looks like that's what we're after! Someone should try it...

Yes! I would very much like an interrupt interface to libusb, as it would
allow me to test the iFeel force feedback code I am writing. (The iFeel
is HID+extra interrupt endpoint). All I need is OUT.
Any idea how to do this? Doesn't libusb use usbdevfs? And doesn't that lack
support for interrupt
. :)

Just wanted to clear this up.
