Hi,
My apologies for the OT. I was hoping someone can shed me some light into
this. Is there anyone that uses this ADSL/Router and uses application that
runs on H.323, which in this case MSN Messenger? I am having trouble using

Hi,
As far as I know you can't use MSN voice and/or file transfer through
most adsl modems in NZ. It is to do with the way microsoft has designed
MSN. I *think* that you are still able to receive incoming files and/or
voice chat but not initiate connections.
Cheers,

With ADSL routers it either works or it doesn't, but what you could do
is port forward all ports to your windows box then it may work. From a
security point of view this is a very stupid idea so best that you
ignore it.
I do have another solution which will also bring this back on topic. The
Hi Jonathan, didn't know you're on the list too.
A friend is using the Asus AAM6000EV ADSL/Router. He's able to use file
transfer, either initiating or receiving, without problem. On Neuron
too. Should I look into for some hope?

I tried port forwarding but no joy. Even did a stupid move as to disabling
the IP Firewall, but no joy either.
Setting up another boxen sounds like a good idea. But due to $$$ and space
restriction, not viable for me yet.
Any other takers?

I've emailed Alcatel. But I doubt I won't hear from them so soon. I've
checked my firmware. It's version 3.281. Slightly newer than what's
mentioned on www.nzadsl.co.nz I have no way of finding out if this
firmware fully supports H.323 either.

On Nicks page: http://www.rout.co.nz/gentoo/img6.html there is an IRC network

ie irc.openprojects.net port 6667 The Gentoo channel ( #gentoo )
