combined phone organisers work about just as well. The phones are not the
best phones - poor reception bulky and hard to use, the organisers are
comprisied because of the phone functions and not as good as a stand alone
I'm considering a phone / organiser combined.
Any one have any recommendations? (Or should avoids)
As others have suggested, a PalmOS Treo is your best bet for syncing.

I think if you wanted an organiser/phone (smartphone) thats more or less
guaranted to
synch with ubuntu than a Palm Treo 650/680 would be the way to go. Palm
also has newer 7xx devices. Palm's thanks to pilot-link synch pretty

Thanks for all these replies - plenty of food for thought.
I especially hear that a phone/organiser is a compromise on both sides.
Main reasons for wanting to change is that I will be getting a new
phone for work and my existing tungsten T is getting old and a bit
flakey - the touch screen
