To be honest, it is usually 3 or 4 days between visits to the folder where the

I had an issue whereby I pulled the device out without 'unmount'ing first.
Next time I plugged it in I got the 'not valid block device' error.
Windows 2k and Xp was still able to recognise it but I had to reformat it by
