Hi:
Now that /View has been defined a little better for us, I wanted to get the
list's opinion about the project that I have on my desk and whether Rebol
might be appropiate for it.
My employer has written a professional time accounting package directed at
the legal profession. Right now I'm in
My understanding is that Ole_Db is a newer standard for database access than
ODBC. I wonder if REBOL is also looking at this.
Another though slower alternative might be XML, which I think is already
there in one of the archived scripts.
Rebol is going to be BIG!
Yeah I'm sure it will ! :-) But Carl's description sounds great. This
sounds just like what I need to start doing some internet programming.
Hi: I want to thank everyone on the list who has contributed to this
thread.
I realize that its main intent is to communicate to Rebol your preferences,
but in the process you've clarified a lot of the issues involved in Web
development for this neophyte. I've thought about asking the group
Petr:
Thanks for your response. If I were to go with Rebol or something else, we
would probably upgrade to a database such as Oracle, Codebase or MSSQL .
Still ODBC will be slower than foxpro for accessing such data probably.
Visual Foxpro has been very good for us so far, we even have the
Excellent - my inbox has over 300 messages - most of them with the subject
[Rebol] !!!
Okay - I've just looked and can see no apparent link to a wiki - where would
it be?

We're doing a wiki for rebol at REBOL.ORG.
Have a look! :-)
Moi aussi, Watakushi mo...me too!
Sorry folks somehow my email address got changed by Outlook, so I changed it
back - I hope.
Hi: This sounds great. I've been contemplating learning HTML and it
doesn't interest me at all. So I think I fit into the 'everyone else'
sector of society.
Elan:
I didn't realize that the distaste for HTML was so pervasive as you seem to
state. I thought I was just graphically challenged. I've hated formatting
languages since I began programming.
I wonder how view will differ? What pardigm will it use? I guess we just
have to stay tuned.
Hey:
I was just wondering what people thought an _affordable_ price might be.
I'm usually pretty
comfortable with the $100 - $500 range depending on the tool.
Subhra:
Alright calm down - and get back to studying! :-)
I'm sure if Rebol wants to rope in all those poor young
programmers they'll come up with Student/Educational prices.
Kat:
Well, that's why I asked the question.
