Has it been mentioned that there is a recitative and aria with lute
obbligato.in the St. Matthew. It is Nos. 65-6 (Komm süsses Kreuz). The
earliest version of the Passion calls for lute, but later versions use
viola da gamba, a particularly unfortunate choice because with all the
leaps the
Andi's setting hasn't anything to do with Andre's ideas (Burguete) which
were published a while ago and as Roman already mentioned he tries to
solve every problem with Bach's lute music by retuning the lute. This
indeed makes it much easier to play the pieces but you would need either

I don't think it makes much sense to sight-read large amounts of music.
okay - It can be fun to dig in manuscripts but if you want to prepare
yourself more seriously you better should stay with just the pieces you
want to play.
