Dear ones,
There is a new recording released of a program of Weiss, and this is
recorded by Nigel North. Please see:

The program is early works of Weiss,
I'm happy to announce that during the next year the City of Leno (where
Capirola was born) will produce a cd with some music (recorded by me) and
the full pdf Capirola book, like in my Kapsberger cd.
I'll send you more news when the cd will be ready.

Dear lutelisters: I have just upgraded the Lute App in the iTunes store
to version 1.1.0. It now includes a section for Wayne's famous Lutes
for Sale page. The app is still free and has no ads.

You're sure about this? My old G4 (256M ram, 800 MHz, PowerPC g4 2.1 CPU) is
running 10.4.11.

What HP just said. The ram to upgrade to 1.25 gig is very cheap, too.
It's still a workhorse and I use it for Fronimo among other stuff --
putting this mildly on topic even.

Since this is becoming a computer discussion group I will that I have a g4
PowerBook running 10.5.8. It runs a cool lute tablature program, and also
plays mmidi's of lute tablature.

I am running Tiger on my old 500 MHz G3 iMac. Fits like a glove and runs fast
enough for playing music and more. It was my only computer until the first Mac
mini came out. Videos are a bit of a problem though.
I remember there was a firmware update necessary before being able to update to
OSX.

Parallels doesn't run on a G4 since it is Intel-only. So either you have a
MacBookPro or a lot of imagination. Your choice! :-)
Parallels only exists since 2005. (Believe me, I should know) so it is also
possible that Steve Jobs has lured you inside his R.D.F. (Reality Distortion
Yes, there are 3 upgrades needed before, but the last of the 3 hangs on

All of my machines run something lute-related. Otherwise I wouldn't keep
them in the first place.

Since the group has been dealing with computer questions, may I pose one.
Often when members post youtubes - or videos on ning - I find that they will
play for only a few seconds and then stop and then start again and so on. Is
the system buffering during the stopped times? My computer is a
That depends on a lot of factors. It tends to do that if your modem/router
has too many people (such as my kids for example) downloading something at
the same time. Videos embedded in blogs tend to run slower than those on
youtube for some reason.

I'm the only one on my modem. I'll try Morgan's suggestion, and let it finish

Dear Collective Wisdom,
I have fixed my old G4 Mac (OS9) after 6+ years in the closet.
Do you have any ideas what it could still be used for? other than a
paperweight, of course...
I was given a 500 Mhz G4, older than yuours. It works just fine for wifi,

I'll choose imagination --which is hardly distinguishable these days

it on lutebooks, strings or instruments.
