I had surgery on May 10 to remove a 4mm mass that had appeared suddenly on my barring finger, making playing very difficult. I went to a hand surgery specialist who was skilled at the micro-suturing to close the wound so it would heal properly. After 5 weeks, I was able to get back to practicing. Pathology report was that the mass was a blood clot and there was no other disease process or malignancy. The surgeon explained that it must have been caused by physical trauma from playing. Very scary, but I am fortunate to have gotten away with no serious after effects or complications.
