Re: LinuxDay @ Pisa - Oct 22nd
Visto che รจ in italiano io metterei "ebraico" al posto di "Ebreo" e penso anche "arabo" al posto di "Arabico". Ciao. These are to be inter-mixed with a live demo, overall 15 mins, so it's just a few notes about things not to forget. You might be curious about the devel stats slide. I'll let you know what feedback I get... Thx, T.

I probably incurred in a double installation of MiKTeX (Administrator and User), when I ran MiKTeX update as administrator it doesn't update things loaded as user (or something like that, I'm not an expert). Recently I had a problem with a not-updated version of a package, which instead I thought to be updated since I had run MiKTeK update. To solve that I uninstalled the multi-user and installed the one-user version of MiKTeK, after that also the problem with LyX was solved. At the end of the day, the problem was in my MiKTeX installation, non in LyX. Thank you for your interest. Ciao! Carla

How to use \tikzexternalize storing the files in a user's dir and not in a LyX temp dir?
I'm working with LyX 2.2.0, Windows 10 and MiKTeX 2.9 distibution. If I write in my preamble: \usepackage{tikz} \usetikzlibrary{external} \tikzexternalize[prefix={Figures/}] all works well, but the externalized files are stored in a LyX temp dir, hence I loose them when I close LyX (you use \tikzexternalize also to save time, if you loose the figures, time is not saved). If I write: \tikzexternalize[prefix={"C:/Users/MyName MySurname/Documents/LaTeX/Figures/"}] I get the error: ! I can't write on file `"C:/Users/MyName MySurname/Documents/LaTeX/Figures/MyDoc-figure0.md5"'. I've already written to lyx-users, but without success. I've also posted a question on TEX SE, they told me the solution is to set MIKTEX_ALLOWUNSAFEOUTPUTFILES=1 but this is dangerous: http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/319721/tikz-externalization-with-absolute-path-and-miktex-distribution Is there an alternative? Thank you! Carla
After having upgraded to LyX 2.2.0, could it be useful to have also LyX 2.1.5?
If have already upgraded to LyX 2.2.0 on Windows 10 but I still have also LyX 2.1.4 on my pc. Could it be useful to upgrade my 2.1.4 to 2.1.5? For example, in case of errors in 2.2.0, just to compare the behaviour in 2.1.5? Or is it unadvisable? Thank you, bye! Carla

The exact sequence of what i've done is: - install LyX 2.2.0 (after some days) - run MiKTeX update - reconfigure LyX 2.2.0
