I have now upgraded to LyX 1.0.0, and this is what I get when I issue the command ldd lyx: libc.so.5 = not found Greetings. I solved a similar problem by making a symbolic link that says libc.so.5 - libc.so.6, although I don't know how this lib5 thingy appeared since I recompiled
