LyX 1.1.6 won't load lyx layouts?

After I compile LyX 1.1.6 it doesn't display the default layouts in /share/lyx/layouts. I read the Configure doc and even moved the layouts to my ~.lyx/layouts directory. But it still doesn't see them. I looked in textclasses.lst but they don't show up. I'm runnin Debian 2.2r2. Any sugestions?

hi, your text has \quotes_language french \quotes_times 2 therefore your text was ok: doubled french quotes. but lyx has the following "not so good behaviour": when you change any type of the quotes, only the new quotes are changed, the old ones never. you hava to correct it by hand

Hi all, I have just tried out the new LyX 1.1.6 and its new shiny integrated PDF exporters, and I've found that the generated PDF documents have really ugly fonts, close to unreadable in Acrobat Reader. I'm sure there's a way to fix this ;-). Any hint? TIA, Arkaitz.
