Indenting Paragraphs with Letter Template

I am new to LyX and am trying out the letter template. I am having a problem with the paragraphs not indenting in previews, even though that is the formatting that I have selected for the letter. When I open the code up in a LaTeX viewer, there is no indication that it should indent.

Hi I have compiled 1.4.1 from source, and wish to use the branches feature. In Documents/Settings/Branches I can set up different branches, set their colours, activate them etc, but I can't see a menu item to insert a branch, or convert some text already there to a particular branch. Any help

Hello I'm having trouble using document classes in Lyx. I create a new document and then go to the document settings. The only classes which are available for selection from the drop down list are article, book, letter, and report. The others are marked as unavailable e.g. 'Unavailable:
