of lyx, you HAVE to be reasonably comfortable with latex IMHO. Though you can do quite a lot with lyx by itself, latex is a whole big world with practically endless possibilities. Once you're comfortable with latex, you can mix and match lyx and latex as required. Regards -- K S Sreeram
