When I use backref, the back references at the end of bibliography lines
point not only to the citations inside the text but also to citations in the
captions listed in the LOF.
This does not seem correct as the references in the text are no longer
sequential since the LOF precedes

Missing bounding boxes can be restored by program called ps2eps,
http://www.tm.uka.de/~bless/ps2eps
After correcting your eps, you can try to push them through epstopdf
again.

When pdflatex converts *.eps files to pdf I get errors that these figures
can't be converted and are not shown in the final pdf. When .ps files get
converted, their boundingboxes are ignored so figures are not displayed
properly.

With Uwe suggestion, I upgraded to MiKTeX 2.6 all of these problems got

I decided to upgrade from LyX1.4.2 to LyX1.4.3-4. The new version does not
display equations correctly on my system. I tried to download
BaKoMa4LyX-1.1.zip math fonts and to reinstall them in to WinXP but was not
successful at fixing the math fonts in 1.4.3-4.
LyX1.4.2 and earlier did

The word Figure is part of the caption paragraph type. That
is why they tell you to change it to standard instead of caption
I had no idea that Figure appeared because it is a paragraph type. I
thought it was a part of the float and could not be removed or changed.

column article. I've searched the mailing list and found two old threads
about this (see below).
A solution to the newer message was to: After you have inserted the figure
float, set the cursor behind the word

I think this supports the possibility of a Ghostscript conflict and that
Matlab comes with its own version of Gs.
I actually have three versions of gs.exe. Cygwin has two. One in cygwin\bin
directory and one in cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin directory.

LyX was configured with the system GS. It is now going
to use the matlab gs. Does the matlab gs need to be put
in the beginning of Path_prefix? Reconfigure/Restart?
[SET LC_ALL=en_EN] I think that stands for Locale.

One more little experiment, if you don't mind, just to confirm symptoms:
if you comment out one of the SET commands in lyx.bat, but replace it with
a line of equal length (SET XXX=Y... with enough Xs
and Ys to match the line you commented out), does the bug move to a
1 - 100 of 210 matches
