Followup on my problem from before: I still haven't managed to fix it so the NatBib and apalike Bib style work happily together. I've changed to an alternative style (simple natbib essentially) and it seems to work OK. Because this works fine, I assume that it is something weird about the apalike

Okay. It just seems that here is one area where it makes more sense to follow the UI (that's UI only) behavior of word processors (toggling a mixed selection resets it). If one has a paragraph with some emphasized words and you toggle this in Lyx, you then have a paragraph or line with

Hi In my dissertation, I have a couple of large graphics (which are in fact Gantt style plans). I need each to appear on its own on a landscape page. How do I achieve this? I'd prefer to do it in LyX so the figure naming etc will be consistent along with the page-numbering... Thanks Meri --

In cases such as this I'd suggest looking at: 1. The contents of the LyX file itself. It's just text. You should find entries near the top of the document: \use_natbib 1 \use_numerical_citations 0 Those are both there and near the bottom \begin_inset LatexCommand

Meri, I know it may be a bit too late for you now, but I have found that by keeping my lyx files in RCS/CVS/some SCM system, if something goes a little strange it makes figuring out what a lot easier. LyX makes doing so fairly easy on a unix system with RCS installed, just pick
