fonts - printing
Hi, my problem that I cannot solve after x google searches: I use lyx 2.02 under ubuntu 11.10. In my office I have to use the font arial. Because this font is not to choose in the standard settings I have choose hevetica. But when I print the document the text is bad (light); only when I print it out in pdf-format (with foxitreader) it looks fine. Therefore I tried to find a way to use arial.ttf. I installed the newer texlive version 2011 (full, with xetex and luatex) and found that there are many fonts (incl. arial.ttf) under /usr/share/fonts/... But after that Lyx does not show more fonts which can be checked under the document settings. When I check the box Non-Tex-Fonts use (via XeTex/LuaTex) I can choose many more fonts, also arial, but when I print the document Lyx give me a document with many other layouts than checked (the standard text format for new documents) and also with a bad light character. Has anyone an idea what to do or change to be able to use other ttf-fonts or to print in a acceptable way (like under firefox)? Thank you in advance. Horst

Hi, I have the problem with the new version of lyx 2.0 for windows that I can only use the spellchecker hunspell. I have seen that this problem ist known, but I have not found any solution. How can I now use this spellchecker (instead of aspell)? Do I have to install dictionarys for hunspell? With the installation of lyx 2.0 no dictionarys are installed. Thanks in advance. Horst

Hallo, after updating to lyx 1.2.1 (under SuSe 8.1) lyx crashes while using the spelling option: when the spelling function finds a wrong word und shows the rihgt one lyx crashes when I double clicke the right word. What can be the reason? Thanks in advance. Horst

Hallo, since my upate to lyx 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 and from suse 8.0 to suse 8.1 lyx always prints an empty site before printing the right file. Can anyone help me. I do not believe that it is a problem of suse because all other programs like abiword and so on print correctly. Horst

Hallo, hat vielleicht jemand Erfahrung mit dem Programm word2tex? Habe mir dieses Programm besorgt (und registriert), um bestehende word97-Dateien in das tex-Format zu konvertieren. Leider bislang ohne Erfolg: Der Konvertierungs- bzw. eine deutsche userliste, womit ich diese idee zu den akten lege.
es gab 15 rckmeldungen, von denen der berwiegende teil eine
deutsche liste begren wrde, aber keinerlei probleme mit der
jetzt bestehenden englischen liste sieht. und wo keine probleme
sind, muss auch nicht unbedingt was gendert werden

man sich auf "user"-listen gefreut hat: Ergebnis, wie sich jetzt zeigt:
leider auch nur eine elitre Klasse, die beliebt, unter sich zu bleiben
(Mathematiker und andere Englisch-Freaks, die nun offensichtlich garnicht
verstehen knnen, dass es auch andere ernsthafte Anwendungsinteressierte
geben knnte, die auch ohne Englisch auskommen bzw. auskommen mssen).
Die Rckfrageaktion erschien mir darber hinaus extrem kurz: war das
Ergebnis ("nur" 15 Rckmeldungen) gewnscht?
Ich versuche es mal: "last not least" ... Wenn man schon die deutschsprachig

Hallo, entschuldigt meine Anfrage in deutsch, aber mein Englisch ist nicht so gut, dass ich mein Problem damit genau beschreiben könnte: Habe Lyx 1.16 - und KLyx - unter SuSe 7.0 installiert; hat soweit auch geklappt, jedenfalls kann ich die Programme problemlos starten. Nur das Ausdrucken der Dokumente klappt nicht (mit anderen Programmen geht das problemlos); wenn ich es versuche, kommen folgende Fehlermeldungen: "Converting from latex to dvi Running sh: ./Datei: Keine Berechtigung ... dvips: ! DVI file can`t be opened" Weiter kommt im xterm-Fenster jeweils die Meldung: "apsfilter: unsupported filetype" Auch unter KLyx klappt das Ausdrucken entsprechend nicht. Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?
