it is bizarre, you can't seem to have the letter s first and doubled in the

If you change the slide title to something without the ss or SS at the front it

experience could install LyX on Windows; it

You could try the following in the preamble. It is from my thesis which I wrote
in the report class. I don't know enough latex to tell you whether it is class
specific or will work in your case, but give it a go!

and under the tab "general", pressed "refresh now" and "update now"?
Also after that edit>reconfigure in Lyx?

You don't need to. Just use the command \pagenumbering{arabic} in ERT where you
want it to start.

I had a similar problem with my thesis which was written on Lyx 1.1.5fix2 under
RH7.1,
and editing it again under cygwin Lyx 1.2.1. You should just know that the way
Lyx deals with figures has changed and that you have to manually adjust the
figure settings so that they don't go outside the page.

I have win xp (home edn) on my notebook running exceed (v.6) hummingbird
and the cygwin windows port of lyx 1.2.1. This runs fine. I'd recommend
this as a possible solution.
I also don't have any problems with exceed running other X applications.
What version of exceed do you have?

I'm having this problem too. The modify text, rerun view-pdf doesn't
work for me. I also don't have spaces in my cite keys. Are there any
other suggestions?

Download a latex package called eurosym from CTAN,
its easy to install follow the instructions in the readme.
Add \usepackage{eurosym} to your latex preamble in Lyx.
Then use ERT, to call the symbol, I think there are a few
different euro symbols to choose from.
