I think I got the 2 names slightly wrong but I've got a question on behalf of
my bf who is not on thsi list.
He wants to remap the caps lock key to be used as a insert key. He followed
eric karon's directions, however for some reason cannot get it to work. Here is

Well, it turns out that the problem is in the software itself. We were going
through the steps and I believe there is a bug someware in the software.
For now though he is using the num pad on the laptop starting from the u i and

Laptops do not have the insert key. Extended keyboards provided from Apple do.
You can buy a blue tooth number pad keyboard that will provide the insert key.

Could you please provide a few more details about your insert key?
- What make and exact model of keyboard are you using?
- What is your keyboard's layout? (US, UK, France, etc)
- Where on your keyboard is the insert key located?
- Do you need to press any additional keys
I have a replacement old style Apple Imac keyboard, but the original thin
aluminum model delivered with the Imac also had an insert key.
Both keyboards are extended keyboards with full numpad. The insert key is at
the bottom of the num pad array. In this sense they are identical to the
layout
Can anyone tell me what the equivalent of the insert key is on the mac?
